Resorts are great because unlike a hotel they have activities and amenities to keep you busy during your entire stay. JW Marriott Phuket Resort was no different. In fact there is almost no reason to even leave the resort.
If you have ever walked into a place and felt yourself releasing a long low sigh of pure relief then you will know exactly how we felt as soon as we arrived at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa Phuket. As soon as we got out of the taxi we were greeted with handmade local bracelets, a cold towel and local drink (similar to lemonade). All the hustle and bustle of Bangkok immediately began to melt away. The full resort relaxation experience had commenced.
We checked in to our two bedroom suite. The idea of this being called a suit is a little silly, it’s really more of an apartment. Complete with two bedrooms, each with their own restroom. A full kitchen with a bar area and separate living room. A laundry room and beautiful deck to complete it all. This was actually better than any apartment I had ever lived in.
Lets talk about amenities because this place has a ton! Because it’s a resort there are a lot of perks that come with staying here. Shall we talk about the 3 pools first. The main pool has a children’s area complete with slides and water spouts. But if children aren’t really your thing, there is a sweet serene pool that only allows adults to swim and relax.
Are you looking for something a little more active? how about a pool with a bar in it underneath a waterfall and water aerobics in the morning? Ya there is kind of something for everyone. But hey if chlorine isn’t really your thing either how about just going to the beach, which is just literal steps away.
If all this swimming and lounging has got you hungry never fear there are 11 restaurants available to satiate you. If you are looking for a authentic cuisine experience there are multiple options as well as more western styled foods such as an Italian and steak restaurant. But lets be real you are on the beach and seafood is really want you want. Don’t worry they have you covered here as well.
Activities are what really separates a resort from a hotel. Here they have one of the best activities, a sea turtle rescue center. Here you can come and see the sea turtles in an intimate surrounding. They also have many water sports available such as paddle boarding and snorkeling. They have soccer and volleyball family game nights as well as a game room. There are cultural activities as well such as learning to cook authentic thai dishes and learning how to make traditional bracelets. Because they have a very modern gym thy also offer muay thai and yoga classes.
